I have rec'd photos from Nova Scotia, Australia, Oregon, North Carolina, here in Georgia, South Dakota, etc. I have some I have not posted until I have comfirmation it is okay to post. Celebrate Reading Assembly: Students from each grade level are presenting something related to reading. Types of presentations include reader's theater/skits, booktalks, poetry readings, a clay animation project and a short book musical. I am giving away two books to each grade level (drawing names randomly). We also have a former teacher who is dressing up as a book character and doing a short presentation.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss: A birthday party with the kindergarten classes that incorporates stories and crafts and of course birthday cake!
Door Decorating Contest: Teachers will decorate their doors with a literary theme and all students and faculty will be given ballots to vote for the best decorated door. Teachers who win will receive gift certificates for the following week's book fair.
Dr. Seuss Dress up week:
Monday - The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins - bring a hat to wear
Tuesday - Cat in the Hat day - dress in red and white
Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday - wear your clothes backwards
Thursday - Fox in Sox - wear funky socks
Friday - Thing 1 and Thing 2 crazy hair day - wear your craziest hair style
